iPhone4S Siri

Do you remember HAL, the notoriously controlling and evil computer in Stanley Kubrick’s “A Space Odyssey?” Well, you can now have his malefic red eye staring right at you from across the room, with the brand new Iris 9000 voice control module for iPhone and Siri. The device is the brainchild of the ThinkGeek team and was especially created for the iPhone 4S and its spanking new feature, the hotly disputed and infinitely fun Siri. What can you do with the Iris 9000? In a nutshell, you can fulfill a techie fantasy that’s been around for years. You can speak to your technology from across the room and watch how it responds (through the voice of Siri) and fulfills all orders you give it.

Simply because Siri will do so many things, but will still keep you tied to your telephone. Do you want voice control over scheduling your appointments? Do you want an invisible companion that will retort to your uber-ironic wit in similar fashion? Do you want a technologic device that will answer even the most inane trivia questions? Siri will do all that, but you can now do it from across the room, thanks to the Iris 9000, which is micro remote controlled. You can now access Siri with a single button press. The device’s built-in microphone will pick up your voice from a distance, and the polished sci-fi-like look will bring the stylings of aluminum, sleek, simple lines and a blinking red eye that responds to Siri’s voice right into your home.

If the above description has gotten you excited enough and you’re ready to shell out the cash, you will need to have a bit of patience, as well as a hefty dose of luck. Developing technology is no easy feat, and, unfortunately, it is something the team at ThinkGeek also has to deal with. The product is still under development and scheduled for official release next year. It will cost $59.99 and will include an attached dock. You can sign-up for newsletters at the producers’ website in order to make sure you are updated on all the latest news about the Iris 9000 and find out all about the official release date in due time.

Better Safe than Sorry

Like all smartphones, the iPhone 4S is a sensitive device, jam-packed with technology. As such, iPhone insurance is always a good idea. Apple’s warranty is available for one year, but there are several types of damage it doesn’t cover. Most cases not covered by the official license involve damage incurred through water (ever taken your phone with you in the shower, as you waited for that “very important phone call?”). Also, jailbroken phones lose all claims to warranty. Therefore, your best option is to choose an all-inclusive insurance package, which will basically cover most claims and make sure you are fully covered in case of theft, loss or various types of damage.
