It has been confirmed that the iPhone 5 or iPhone 4S will not be announced in the WWDC starting this June. However, it can’t stop rumors around the release date of the 5th gen iPhone.
The senior research analyst Gene Munster at Piper Jaffray calculated the interval between the 2 events, iOS event dates and iPhone hardware announcements, in the past 3 years. He found out that the average days from the iOS event date to the iPhone announcement is 79 days and to the ship date is 99 days. Therefore, he expects that iPhone 5/4S will be announced on August 24 and start shipping on September 13. The point seems to make sense and the iPhone 5 release date is quite close to what we predicted earlier.
Besides, Gene also said that the iPhone 5 will have a 4-inch display which is wider than current iPhone 4. In previous news, we have heard that OmniVision will continue supplying the camera sensors for the next generation of iPhone. This one will be an 8MP camera that supports 1080p video recording at 30fps. Additionally, Qualcomm reportedly will missing LTE on the iPhone 5/4S because Apple is not really interested in the new technology and some more problems concerning yield rates of LTE chips.
Apple certainly doesn’t want to miss the holiday shopping season this year, the most lucrative time in terms of revenue. iOS 5 will be covered in the next 3 weeks and then the iPhone 5 announcement is just the matter of time.

Hopefully Iphone 5/4S will release soon. I am eagerly waiting for it as it has 4-inch display with 8megapixel camera , it really sounds cool.
I hope that it comes out that date! I was wondering is there a price range of what it must cost? I think it said on this website $200 but, my friends said that it probably will cost $500-$600! I hope its only $200 like you said, I think, but if you could please respond that would be great!
I hope it doesnt come out yet.. My mom just bought an iphone4.. When this gets released, my moms phone would be old.. haha..
lol, we can’t catch up with the development of technology. A few years ago, I always wanted to get the latest products, however, when they are available, some other new products have already been announced and of course they often have better specs. Therefore, we should be satisfied with what we have now.
Come to now, we still not know it will be named as iPhone 5 or iPhone 4GS.
