There have been many speculations surrounding the upcoming iPhone 5 recently. A possible new information about iPhone 5 has just been revealed by former Engadget editor Joshua Topolsky and it surprises us because it contradict some recent rumors.
According to Topolsky, the phone will look more like an iPod touch than an iPhone 4. It will has a teardrop shape, thinner at the bottom than the top, like the new MacBook Air. Most recent rumors said that iPhone 5 will feature a 4 inch screen, however, he claimed that it will include a 3.7-inch screen only. The reason Apple won’t make a 4 inch screen is because they want to keep the current resolution of the Retina Display. If they make the screen larger than 3.7 inches, the pixel density will drop below 300ppi and it will ruin the point of Retina display.

The home button will not be removed, instead, it will be expanded and open to gesture-based inputs. Apple is finding ways to hide the earpiece and sensors behind the screen also. One more notable feature is that iPhone 5 will work on both GSM and CDMA networks worldwide as it will be equipped with Qualcomm’s dual GSM/CDMA Gobi chipset. Some other interesting features like inductive or touch charging were also claimed but this seems unconfirmed.
