8 Essential WordPress Plugins for Professional Blogs

WordPress is absolutely dominant to other blog platforms because of its excellent plugins. There are collectively thousands of WordPress plugin, so sometimes it is difficult for new bloggers to choose which ones need installed. Since I started my blog last year, I have tried out many plugins, however there are 10 plugins that always appear in my plugins list. Since I installed these plugins, they have reduced my wordload dramatically. In my opinion, they are must-have plugins for every professional blog.
- Akismet - Akismet checks your comments against the Akismet web service to see if they look like spam or not and lets you review the spam it catches under your blog’s “Comments” admin screen.
- Google XML Sitemaps – This plugin will create a Google sitemaps compliant XML-Sitemap of your WordPress blog. Everytime you edit or create a post, your sitemap is updated and all major search engines that support the sitemap protocol, like ASK.com, Google, MSN Search and YAHOO, are notified about the update.
- Platinum SEO plugin - Optimizes your WordPress blog for Search Engines (Search Engine Optimization). Platinum SEO Plugin offers all the features of All in One SEO plugin plus more
- WP Super Cache – WP Super Cache is a static caching plugin for WordPress. It generates html files that are served directly by Apache without processing comparatively heavy PHP scripts. By using this plugin you will speed up your WordPress blog significantly. Read this before using the plugin.

The design of your site is nice, I like it. Which plugin do you use? I think the plugins above are very useful for SEO.
I use the Askimet plugin. For SEO, the Thesis theme does everything thats needed.
